Climatic Testing
Temperature can have many different effects on a product.
Components within a circuit will each have a working temperature
range; once this is exceeded the electrical properties change and
the circuit can become unstable, or cease to function at all.
Materials can also deteriorate over time, ageing prematurely due to either high or low temperature extremes.
Vibration Testing
Mechanical vibration and shock conditions are a part of every
products life. Transportation alone can result in mechanical
damage to a product before it has even reached the end customer.
HALT Testing
Highly Accelerated Life Testing is a screening technique in which
relatively low numbers of stress cycles significantly outside the
normal shipping, storage and operating environment.
Salt Spray Testing
Both metallic and non-metallic materials can suffer from
degradation as a result of salt corrosion. In the case of metallic
materials, the mechanism is electromechanical, whereas non-metallic
materials can degrade due to chemical reactions with the
salt itself.
Ingress Protection
Ingress Protection forms part of the process of determining the
level of protection provided by equipment enclosures. The test
methods and definitions of the Ingress Protection (IP) Codes are
covered under the BS EN 60529 Standard.
